MHS Third Friday Email 9-21-2018

Oh my!  The day got away from me and I forgot to send the Friday email.  I've included additional information to some of the events below.  As always, feel free to contact me if you need more information or clarification.  Have a great weekend!!

We do not have student messengers this year.  What that means is that to avoid classroom disruption, EMERGENCY messages to students from parents only will be delivered.  To reach your student in an EMERGENCY, please dial 923-5200 to speak with the attendance/student service office personnel.  This number will be answered by the voice mail system if personnel are temporarily unavailable.  Your voice mail message will be received and handled within minutes. No other message, flowers, candy, etc. will be delivered to classrooms.  Please make necessary plans and communications with your child before school or via cell phone texts.  This includes items you bring to school for your child.  These items will always be taken to the attendance office for pick up. That said, if you need:
To excuse your child from school during the school day for that day, call 923-5200.
The after-hours attendance hotline number is 923-5190.  This number is available 24/7.  Please call each day your student is absent and give detailed information.  We encourage you to use the attendance hotline to verify your child's absence including planned absences (doctor and dental appointments, etc.)  If a telephone is not available, a written note should be used to excuse the absence.  An absence must be cleared within 48 hours or the absence will remain unexcused.

MHS Mid Summer Email 7-19-18

Good afternoon!

I hope you're enjoying your summer.  This beautiful weather is perfect for vacationing, staycationing, or whatever you are doing during the summer break.  For parents of incoming freshmen or parents new to MHS, let me introduce myself.  I am Lori Kennemer, Mr. Jaster's Administrative Assistant.  I will be sending weekly emails to you to keep you abreast of what's going on at Midland High School.  This is my first email for the 2018-19 school year and it is full of information you need to help your student (and you) start a successful school year at the high school.  As the new school year approaches, Mr. Jaster has compiled a letter that he's asked me to include in this communication.  You can open it here:  Parent.summer.ltr.18.19.docx   I will be sending another email in August with detailed calendar information and other newsy information.  Until then,  I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!

MHS Thirteenth Friday 12-1-17

Good morning, It seems like school just started, and here we are nearing Winter Break (12/21/17 - 1/1/18).  If your holiday travel plans include any of the regular school days, please be sure your child contacts his/her teacher so no assignments are missed.  Students are already talking about exam week (1/23/18-1/25/18) and the end of the semester.  Gosh, time is really passing quickly!  The holiday season seems to come and go quickly also...Continue Reading →
